Tired of the smoke from the forest fires in his hometown of Vancouver, Malik Sayadi founded Backcountry Bonfires in the summer of 2021. Their goal? To reinvent the outdoor campfire experience with a portable, reusable and eco-friendly campfire.
Each Bonfire is made using food-grade soy wax and paper briquettes in a recyclable tin. Simply light the paper briquette with a lighter (jet lighters work best) and you've got a warm, welcoming fire that will last you 3-4 hours. When you're done, place the lid back on to extinguish.
Your Bonfire will Leave No Trace on the environment around you and can be easily packed and stored without mess or hassle. Another perk: If you don't want to have a fire for the full four hours, you can extinguish it after 30 minutes and re-light it later. It’s the perfect eco-friendly alternative to a conventional campfire that won't burn the forest if left unattended.
